Domaine Marc Colin et Fils is a wonderful producer with prized vineyards in some of Burgundy's most prestigious appellations, but with a clear focus on crafting expressive whites. This lively Bourgogne Aligoté is an excellent example of their approach to winemaking and viticulture. You'll find aromas of lemon zest, fresh green apple skin and subtle aromatic white floral notes. This is all underpinned by a minerality that is typical of very fine Burgundy. On the palate the minimal use of oak emphasizes the wine's purity and precision.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Damien Colin
Marc Colin, based in Burgundy's Saint-Aubin region, established his domaine in the 1970s with vineyards inherited by him and his wife, Michèle. The domaine began with six hectares and has since grown to 19 hectares, specializing in white wines, especially its Aligoté and Saint-Aubin. Marc's children now manage the domaine, with Damien overseeing winemaking, Joseph handling viticulture, and Caroline managing sales.
"Expect aromas of citrus zest, green apple, and subtle floral notes, underpinned by a mineral backbone that keeps things tight and engaging." - Damien Colin, Winemaker.
