This Coastal Region Cape exclusive is made from a selection of barrels and, like all the best blends, captures the best of each component and, in this bottling, expresses the dark heart of this sumptuous region. There's a lovely dark berry fruit intensity to the nose that is given a little fresh blackcurrant lift. These characters follow onto the palate with increased focus on the ripe dark fruit, which is layered with spice and exceptionally ripe plum before a long and muscular finish.

You really need to focus on the small stuff in the vineyards through to the bottle because if you slip up on any part, the wine won't be any good. For me, wine is made in the vineyards and I'm just there to guide it into the bottle with limited intervention, keeping it pure and not fake.
