The Liberty Road Chardonnay celebrates the pioneering spirit of American winemaking. During a buying trip to California our Head of Buying, Sophie Lord, discovered the talented Heather Nenow, a winemaker who captures the true essence of Lodi's vineyards. Sophie immediately recognised the potential in Heather's Chardonnay, but the journey didn't end there. They teamed up with California winemaking legend David Akiyoshi - whose philosophy stems directly from Robert Mondavi himself - and, together, they crafted this exceptional Chardonnay from different parcels of Heather's Lodi grapes and special cellar parcels. With rich flavours of ripe peach, banana and butterscotch, with a touch of toasty oak, this wine is perfect for those who embrace life's journey, one glass at a time.

Heather Nenow's winemaking journey began with a thirst for knowledge and adventure, leading her to the vineyards of Italy and Chile, where she refined her expertise in winemaking and vineyard management. Returning to California, she crafted wines for the iconic E. & J. Gallo, establishing herself in the industry. Heather's passion for both winemaking and exploration inspired her to work as a consultant, balancing travel with her deep connection to Californian wine. In 2022, she joined the LangeTwins Family Winery team, collaborating with renowned winemaker David Akiyoshi, where her adventurous spirit and expertise continue to shape exceptional wines.
