From the surrounding area of La Aguilera, Dominio de Cair rubs shoulders with some very highly regarded neighbours, not just with an excellent reputation in Spain, but globally. This is a small pocket of the Ribera del Duero region that boasts vineyards of wines that are truly world-class and eye wateringly expensive! Dominio de Cair is a small producer growing the region's local Tempranillo variant - Tinto Fino - where it yields small volumes of excellent quality grapes. This wine is our buyers' selection from the pick of the barrel stock where the wine had been maturing for nearly a year in the finest French and American oak barrels.

Despite a successful business career, the call to return to the family tradition of winemaking was too strong. After a string of placements at some remarkably good wineries (not least Terroir al Limit in Priorat), Alvaro has now settled in Ribera del Duero where he's already expressing his incredible winemaking experience through the wine in the glass.
