It's not uncommon for surplus wine at top estates to become available at a cut price, the problem is getting in there before it goes. After a thorough tasting, our buyers selected this parcel, from barrel, to be bottled under our own, anonymous brand (with a cheeky nod to the origin). This is a classy Bordeaux-style blend that shows excellent varietal character with an added splash of the Spanish sunshine. Blackcurrants, plum and pepper wrapped up in mouthcoating vanilla.

Sometimes we can't tell you who the actual winemaker is. The usual reason for this is that they make expensive wine under their own name and they don't want the world to know they're also supplying their wine much cheaper under a different label. Why do they do this? Either they need an injection of cashflow or they've produced too much and don't want to swamp the market and cheapen their brand (or maybe we've just been able to sweet-talk them into doing us a favour).
