The Wine The Wine
France
Region:Burgundy - Bourgogne
A classic French red that is expertly crafted by winemaker Samantha Bailey to show off the more serious side of Gamay - a grape given fame and following by the red berry fruit-filled bottlings from the Beaujolais region, the most southern part of Burgundy. Here, that ripe, jammy raspberry and strawberry character, which is still very much the driving force behind the wine, is given a few extra dimensions and layered with delicate spice and hints of wild herbs. A great conversational red for any occasion that calls for a delicious red wine.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Samantha Bailey
Our strong winemaking philosophy developed to achieve our aim of making quality wines, which are representative of the region and variety at every price point. Minimal intervention in the winery, use of indigenous yeasts where possible, maximum aeration of the reds and judicious use of oak to enhance the wines where necessary are key to our success in making very drinkable and food friendly wines.
"Silky with upfront floral notes that lead into flavours of ripe red and black fruits and a touch of white pepper spice. I love this savoury version of what Gamay can offer. A wine with good depth and a wonderful elegance on the finish." - Samantha Bailey, Winemaker.
