The Wine The Wine
France
Region:Alsace
The Grand Cru Brand comes from the Turckheim region from grapes grown on a steep hillside with south-facing exposure. Rich and complex with round and powerful aromas of honey and peaches, balanced by the freshness of natural acidity which gives a long and clean finish that continues to linger. A magnificent bottle of wine that will continue to evolve in bottle but will also go down superbly right now.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Daniel Gerold
Originating from Alsace, Daniel Gerold was introduced to wine by his father, which eventually inspired him to follow a path towards a career in the industry. After his winemaking studies, Daniel travelled across Burgundy, Champagne and New Zealand, gaining a wide-ranging knowledge of grape varieties, terroirs and techniques. In 2020, he headed back to the Alsace and started to work at Cave de Turckheim.
"This granite slope, which overlooks the medieval town of Turckheim, enjoys an amazing amount of sunshine. According to legend, it was on this "terre de feu" that a battle took place between a dragon and the sun! The wines from this Grand Cru are distinguished by their great elegance, balance and finesse." - Daniel Gerold, Winemaker.
