The Wine The Wine
France
Region:Bordeaux - Pauillac
The town of Pauillac could be described as the capital of the Médoc, both for its geographical position midway between the mouth of the Gironde and Bordeaux, and for the presence of three First Growths on its territory (Lafite, Latour, and Mouton). Full-bodied and strong, refined and distinguished, the wines of Pauillac are among the best-known in the Médoc. This wine is therefore exceptional in its own right, but what makes it extra special is that this Grand Vin wine by Maison Ginestet is made from grapes sourced from a Grand Cru Classé estate. Their anonymity is your gain; if you purchased the wine under the estate label, you’d be paying twice this price.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Maison Ginestet
Maison Ginestet is a family-owned company with a history spanning over 5 generations. It has been a pillar of Bordeaux dating back to 1897 and is inspired by its founder, Fernand Ginestet, and the particular attention he paid to the art of tasting. The Maison proudly bears his name and perpetuates his ambition to promote Bordeaux wines throughout the world.
"This Cabernet Sauvignon blend offers great aromatic power. The harmonious tannic backdrop unites with a well-balanced acidity and exceptionally smooth tannins. Lavish and explosive, you should savour this wine with prime rib of beef or a wild boar stew." - Maison Ginestet, Winemaker.
