- All grapes are hand-picked as per the appellation's rules, and this takes place quite early in the season to ensure maximum freshness is retained.
- This is drinking superbly right now, but some time in the cellar will do it no harm and with that it will develop more nutty and honeyed notes.
- This wine is wonderful with seafood - pan-seared scallops served with a mango and chilli salsa, or a classic garlic prawn linguini.

The Wine The Wine
France
Region:Rhône - Châteauneuf-du-Pape
You'd be forgiven for thinking that Châteauneuf only produced red wines, seeing as they take up most of the spotlight. However, it is a region that also produces whites that can be truly captivating in character and wonderfully complex. Not all producers have enough white vines to make a white cuvée. Thankfully, the Gonnet estate has, and this is a lively, equally split blend of Clairette and Roussanne. A wine with great fruit concentration and a welcome, if slightly surprising, freshness. There's a little spice and richer honey notes on palate and the finish is long, balanced and persistent.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Guillaume Gonnet
Guillaume Gonnet is a 3rd generation winemaker who took ownership if the family estate in Châteauneuf back in 2006. Prior to this he gained invaluable experience working at some of the world's finest wineries, covering renowned regions like Bordeaux, Burgundy and Napa to name a few! He now runs the estate with his wife Kelly and produces a range if terroir driven wines that capture the unique climate this prestigious part of France's Rhône Valley.
"Making our white wine is one of the highlights of every vintage and I love the balance between richer peach fruit and the fresher citrus hints. The mouth is fresh and crispy, and a slight saltiness lingers on the palate. It is this touch of salinity that keeps me going back to the glass for another sip!" - Guillaume Gonnet, Winemaker.
