The Wine The Wine
Australia
Region:Barossa Valley
The latest edition to the Black Pig The Prize range is not one to be missed. Semillon is a grape that is rarely planted in the Barossa Valley, that's why, when we were given first dibs on a cracking little parcel, we had to say yes. A rich yet refreshing Semillon lifted with great aromatics of orange blossom, sugar snap peas and lemon. It is definitely 'The Prize' of our Australian Semillon range.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Andréa Maxwell
Andréa grew up in South Africa and completed her degree in Viticulture & Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch. Her love for wine developed early, starting a wine course while still in school. After two vintages in South Africa, she moved to Australia and has been ingrained in the industry since. In her spare time, she enjoys walking with her partner and their gorgeous English Cocker Spaniel, Darcy, through their own Shiraz vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale.
“If you talk about wine, it doesn’t matter what language you speak. It will intrinsically connect you to people.”
"Made from our best grapes of the vintage, this wine is brimming with summer florals of orange blossom alongside notes of lemon and sugar snap peas. A great wine with impressive acidity and length." - Andréa Maxwell, Winemaker.
