The Wine The Wine
Australia
Region:Limestone Coast
With its cool maritime climate and large flat plains brimming with sunlight, the Limestone Coast is a favourite Aussie playground for producing bold and fruit-forward wines. Rising star winemaker Andréa Maxwell has expertly managed to harness the power of these shiraz grapes by creating a wine bursting with flavours of dark cherry and plum that mingle with a hint of spice and chocolate. It is the perfect balance between punchy, dense black fruit and easy drinking, making it an ideal wine to be enjoyed on its own or with a meal.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Andréa Maxwell
Andréa grew up in South Africa and completed her degree in Viticulture & Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch. Her love for wine developed early, starting a wine course while still in school. After two vintages in South Africa, she moved to Australia and has been ingrained in the industry since. In her spare time, she enjoys walking with her partner and their gorgeous English Cocker Spaniel, Darcy, through their own Shiraz vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale.
“If you talk about wine, it doesn’t matter what language you speak. It will intrinsically connect you to people.”
"Fruit forward and lifted aromas of raspberries, cherry and plum. Rich in colour and inviting on the nose. The palate is plush with dark cherries, lifted spice and chocolate aromas. It is rounded and dense, with an alluring and velvety texture." - Andréa Maxwell, Winemaker.
