The Wine

Country of origin:

Australia

Region:

McLaren Vale

The purpose of the Loom SV (Single Vineyard) range is to shine a light on the expression and purity that can be achieved from some of South Australia's most prized vineyards. This special plot of old vine Grenache in McLaren Vale delivers an abundance of red fruits both aromatically and throughout the palate. It is soft and alluring without being extracted, and the cheeky tannins bind the sweet fruits and balance out the flavour profile. There's plenty to like about this classy drop! Easy drinking yet complex, and very much capable of further improvement over the next 5 or so years.

The Winemaker

Steve Grimley
Winemaker:

Steve Grimley

"This wine is made of selectively handpicked grapes from our 100+ year old Block 11 Vineyard in McLaren Flat. We carted the fruit to the winery in half tonne bins and dropped them into a Refrigerated Shipping Container to cold soak for a few days pre-ferment. Once out we lightly pumped over and hand plunged the cap before pressing and completing fermentation in older oak where it stayed until in we came back from the Christmas holidays." - Steve Grimley, Winemaker.
