Region:Bordeaux - Saint-Julien
The Connetable Talbot is a second wine with a great reputation. While the fruit doesn't make it into the world-famous Château Talbot, it still goes through the same rigorous selection in the vineyard and then on the sorting table, resulting in a world-class wine at a much more favourable price than the top wine. Playing to the strengths of St. Julien, this wine is led by Cabernet Sauvignon and with a few years' age, it's now beginning to develop beautiful and complex herbal and floral characteristics, without losing its traditional spicy structure on the finish.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Eric Boissenot
Growing up in a winemaking family, Eric first started making wine with his father at age 14 on the family estate. Since then, this knowledge, experience and passion for wine has blossomed, helping him to graduate from the Faculty of Oenology in Bordeaux. After graduating, he started a career as an oenology consultant for many wine estates and strongly believes in the expression of terroir within wines and the vineyard.
"Great with a fillet of duck breast cooked with honey and spices, or grilled tournedos and a creamy morel sauce partnered with seasonal vegetables. Also perfect with a good selection of cheeses." - Eric Boissenot, Winemaker.
