The Wine The Wine
France
Region:Languedoc
The man behind this blend is the very talented Gavin Crisfield. He selects small parcels owned and tended by the great and the good of the region - growers with a passionate commitment to their vines. The result is a warm, textured, supple delight of a wine showing all of the perfumed black raspberry, morello cherry, liquorice and mineral character you could wish for.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Gavin Crisfield
Gavin Crisfield trained as a sommelier before training in winemaking at Plumpton College, East Sussex. He was general manager of Domaine de la Sauvageonne in the Languedoc before making his own wine for the first time in 2009 from grapes grown in cool vineyards close to St Jean de la Blaquière.
"The good thing about the way in which I make this wine, is that it's drawn from great, individual small estates and wouldn't see the light of day if we didn't pull them together." - Gavin Crisfield, Winemaker.
