The Wine

Country of origin:

Spain

Region:

Valencia

On a trip to Spain we discovered the amazing work of Jorge Caus. With this wine you'll find the well executed combination of Spain's ancient winemaking history and Valencia's thriving modern winemaking technology. The result? Structure and complexity you'd expect to find in a Rioja Gran Reserva plus the soft fruitiness of a wine far younger in style. We very soon became addicted to this little number. Try this mellow blend with tapas.

The Winemaker

Jorge Caus
Winemaker:

Jorge Caus

Jorge has an unrivalled depth of knowledge of the wine of Valencia. His CV is a list as long as your arm of qualifications, experience and publications, all relating to the technical aspects of quality wine production. His meticulous approach to wine results in precision and quality in the wines he makes. He would be an asset in any winery around the world.

"In this wine, I have tried to combine the tradition of the Gran Reservas from Rioja with the modernity and cheerful character of the Mediterranean people. I have combined the spicy notes of the barriques with the typical cinnamon and forest fruits flavours of the Tempranillo grapes. Making a complex but soft and easy to drink oak-aged wine." - Jorge Caus, Winemaker.
