The Wine

Country of origin:

Spain

Region:

Valencia

We like to provide a personal service, so when you said you wanted one of your favourite Spanish reds with more fruit and aged in oak slightly longer, we poked our heads around the winery door and asked the winemakers to do just that. They did. Cinnamon and forest fruit flavours of the Tempranillo grapes are combined with spicy, toasty oak to make this soft, complex Valencian red. It doesn't lounge around like a chubby, couch-potato Rioja, it's energetic, well-toned and great with roast lamb.

The Winemaker

Jorge Caus
Winemaker:

Jorge Caus

Jorge has an unrivalled depth of knowledge of the wine of Valencia. His CV is a list as long as your arm of qualifications, experience and publications, all relating to the technical aspects of quality wine production. His meticulous approach to wine results in precision and quality in the wines he makes. He would be an asset in any winery around the world.

"In this wine, I have tried to combine the tradition of the oak-aged wines of Rioja with the modernity and cheerful character of the Mediterranean people. I have combined the spicy notes of the barriques with the typical cinnamon and forest fruits flavours of the Tempranillo grapes, making a complex but soft and easy-to-drink red." - Jorge Caus, Winemaker.

Another very average wine.

Another nice wine

Not to my taste

Very lack lustre, no backbone and little going for it. My remaining 2 bottles will be used in cooking.
