The Spirit

Country of origin:

Scotland

Region:

Islands

Isle of Jura use some of the tallest stills in Scotland for their distilling and although getting them to the remote island posed a few issues, we think it was well worth the effort. The saying goes 'the taller the still the purer the spirit' and these guys make some seriously pure whisky. With such purity you get lots of fruitiness accompanied by plenty of power so the ageing required is a long, slow one, 12 years for this signature bottling.

The Distillery

Isle of Jura

Situated just 60 miles off the west coast of Scotland, Jura only has one road, one pub and one distillery! The local population of around 200 people are outnumbered by the native Red deer an incredible 30 to 1! It's hard to measure the importance the distillery plays in the island community, it is not only the largest employer, but is vital in sustaining the local economy. The people of Jura are ingrained in the distillery and their passion is key in making the iconic flavours that diversify throughout the range from the Journey through to the 21 year old single malt.

The Perfect Serve

Isle of Jura 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky

This lovely 12 Year Old expression from the tall stills of the Isle of Jura Distillery is exceptionally soft and smooth and you should enjoy it neat from a good quality tumbler with a dash of water to open up its complexity.
